Ok so i keep having this issue even though i have the alloc files. This is a new server I was trying to start up with a different mod than Darkness falls. I did a fresh install with rat and the who kit and kaboodle. I get this error (see img) even though i have the files on the server. I even checked the DF folders to see where it was installed and then copied the same alloc folders into the location on the other server. Still no dice.. any ideas?? am i supposed to have these files on the client side as well??

Is RAT connecting to the server?

Is RAT connecting to the server?
when you say connecting do you mean telnet? if that is so then yes. If you mean the webtokens then no. I loive and automated process and your app does that but sometimes when it comes to troubleshooting I would try things manually. like installing SteamCMD myself or something. I was trying to install the alloc files myself into the correct folders but everytime i try to do this manually the server would not allow me to connect to it client side. speaking of client side, am i supposed to have the alloc files on that side as well. and if so where do the the folders even belong? I thought it belonged in the mods folder.

You can install SteamCMD yourself.
You don't need RAT for that.

You can install Allocs yourself too.

The buttons in RAT are just a convenience.

You only need Allocs server side.

i get that you can install them yourself. my question is where exactly do i put them? If i do everything manually myself will RAT still work since i did the heavy lifting. The only reason I ask is because I tried using RATs setup and installation and i have had troubles at every turn. I tried doing a clean install and the whole bit. even using a v1.0 playthrough of 7dtd since steamcmd through the app only does the latest. There is always some problem and I just can't find it. I can get a server up and running on my own without RAT so since I can do that can I still connect RAT to it? If so is that the telnet? and if that is so I got that going. what I cannot seem to get going after that is the webtokens.

Allocs goes in the mods folder.
From the image above, it is in the correct place.

RAT needs the Telnet connection and the web dashboard connection to function.

ok i thought i had it in the right place so that is good. The webtoken bit has been a struggle. I cannot get that light to turn green. i've reset webtokens after it fully started. I made sure nothing was in the url. all ports needed are open. I'm at a lost

I have rat installed on a second pc with the server so I don't access the server remotely. I have rat installed on a second pc with the server so I don't access the server remotely. No matter if i restart the webtokens after the server starts or if I do a fresh install. I still get the same outcome. just checked and see that false in the url. not sure how it got there as I deleted it before. I will stop the server and try it again. also i noticed something else. for some reason it creates another set of files. so the server .xml file was not using the one I had already set up. I made sure to import the xml into the program and the settings therein, but it didn't. Instead it seemed to have created a whole new serverconfig.xml. the only reason i know this is because when I looked for the server in join game in 7dtd the server name was not the run I had been using for the last week.

What is your web dashboard URL?

I see in your mods list that you don't have the web dashboard installed.

You will need that also.

It comes bundled with the server.
Yes, it should be in the mods folder.

With steamCMD? So when it creates the dedicated server folder with the xml and start dedicated.bat it's automatically in the mods folder.? If so I didn't know that. Which means when I installed the mods I delete all contente in the folder to do a fresh install for the mod. Does streamCMD install this every time you run the exe?

I think you can verify files and it will put them back.
