stuck at "Receiving and loading configs..."

Hosting a dedicated server using RAT version .0.2.04.0. I had to uninstall and reinstall RAT to fix a problem and now it's not working even worse now. Bad Company, Alloc's Fixes, Telnet and Local Server are all green. Server backups seem to load fine. Honestly, everything seems fine but I can't figure out why no one can join past "Receiving and loading configs..."

Wondering if the User Data Folder or Save Game Path need to be adjusted, but I've tried tinkering there and didn't get anywhere.

Please help :(
 
Haio, for normal use nothing should need adjusted in thos folders.
1 change i normally see needing changed is clearing the "Disabled Protocols" section an that tends to help most :)
also handy to check over all ya game ports :)

Where is "Disabled Protocols" section?

AWESOME, thank you for your reply. I might hop on later tonight. I downloaded the Hotfix and tried to run it, but it won't actually run in order to install it. And I checked the "disabled protocols" and there isn't anything in there. Should there be something there?
 
i dont run with anything in there but sometimes it can help.
You could try disable one then the other to see if it helps at all.
As for the hotfix read the instructions again :)
 
the hotfix fixes other things with A18 an is just a thing you should make sure to get :)
 
Yep, I have the hotfix and I installed it. But it didn't fix my original problem with the
STUCK AT "RECEIVING AND LOADING CONFIGS..."
I'm sad :(
 
were u planning to run a password on the server?
if so 1 way around it is to disable the anticheat.
as for the hotfix that has nothing to do with the error you are having it's just a update to RAT that is needed for A18 servers if you dont want to run into other problems, as with RAT it does nothing that would cause that to happen.
1 of my ways in the past was to just reinstall the server an when its all setup and running then turn the anticheat back on to avoid the error as for other times it sometimes only needs 1 of the Protocols disabled for it to work fine.
have you looked through the server logs to try find any more info as in my experience with the error some times 1 way may work where other times it just requires a clean start or if the server has a slow connection or the players have a slow connection can also cause many problems.

Update. I fixed it. Kinda. So, one of the problems was in an effort to try to fix my problem I reinstalled RAT. Well, that broke things worse, unfortunately. One of the dumbest things I discovered was that for some reason RAT forgot where I put SteamCMD. So, I pointed RAT to SteamCMD and downloaded it and fixed that problem.

After playing around with a few things, I regained the ability to join my game. One of the things I discovered was that my laptop could connect, but my main gaming machine couldn't. So, I reinstalled 7 Days. This solved the connection problem.

NOW I have a new problem. Even though I can connect, AND I made sure Persistent Profiles is checked, when I connect I don't load into my old character. Even though I've restored backups and everything.

So, I've made progress, server is back up and I think the backup is restoring, just my steam id isn't loading up my character. I think.
 
hmm maybe u missed some player file just a guess
