Going forward, I'm no longer going to try and update the default events on an upgrade from one RAT version to another. That process is time consuming and more than a little annoying for me. So what does this mean for you?

RAT will no longer force you to duplicate an event to edit a "RAT" event. The reason this was done in the first place, was so that I could update the default RAT events, without overwriting any changes you might have made to the event. As I mentioned above, that process is a pain for me and I didn't do it as often as it was needed and people were missing out on event fixes/updates.

Going forward, every time I release an update to RAT that has changes to the events, I'm going to post in the Resources section of the website (where you download RAT), an export of the current default events from RAT. From there, you can choose to import, or not any/all of the events you'd like.

I will create another document in the Documents section here, on how to import/export events, soon.

One thing to note, this does not affect brand new installs (no previous rat database), as those will always have the latest events at the time of installation.

Another side note, a RAT user Blackmadman, suggested I create an events channel in our Discord server. This way admins can get help with/swap/create events to share, so please visit our Discord server (link on the front left page of this website) and visit the #event-system channel!
